DISPOSABLE CONTACT LENSES

Daily Disposable Lenses

Daily disposable lenses are designed for single-use only, meaning they should be worn once and discarded at the end of the day. They offer convenience and hygiene benefits, reducing the risk of infections and eliminating the need for cleaning solutions.

DO’S

✅ Wash and dry hands thoroughly before handling lenses.
✅ Inspect each lens to ensure it is clean and undamaged before insertion.
✅ Follow the wear schedule recommended by your eye care professional.
✅ Store lenses properly in their original sterile packaging until use.
✅ Blink frequently to keep eyes naturally moisturized.

DON’TS

🚫 Never reuse lenses—they are intended for single use only.
🚫 Avoid sleeping in lenses unless specifically advised by your eye care professional.
🚫 Do not handle lenses with dirty hands.
🚫 Do not expose lenses to water.
🚫 Refrain from rubbing your eyes aggressively—this may cause irritation or lens displacement.
🚫 Do not ignore discomfort—if irritation occurs, remove the lenses and seek professional advice.

Monthly Disposable Lenses

Monthly disposable lenses are designed for daily wear over a 30-day period, requiring proper cleaning and storage to maintain eye health. These lenses offer a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option but demand strict hygiene practices to prevent infections.

DO'S

✅ Clean and disinfect lenses daily using fresh contact lens solution.
✅ Store lenses in a sterile case with fresh solution each night.
✅ Replace lenses on schedule—never exceed the recommended wear duration.
✅ Follow proper hygiene protocols provided by your eye care professional.
✅ Give your eyes a break if you experience discomfort or dryness.

DON'TS

🚫 Never use tap water or saliva to clean lenses.
🚫 Do not reuse or “top up” old solution—always use fresh disinfecting solution.
🚫 Never skip the cleaning process—bacteria buildup can cause infections.
🚫 Avoid overwearing lenses—exceeding the recommended duration can damage your eyes.
🚫 Do not ignore signs of irritation—dryness, redness, or discomfort may indicate an issue requiring professional attention.

When to Visit Your Eye Care Practitioner

👁 Routine Eye Exams – Annual visits help monitor eye health and lens suitability.
👁 Discomfort or Redness – Persistent irritation could indicate an allergic reaction or infection requiring changes to lenses or care regimen.
👁 Vision Changes – Blurry, fluctuating, or distorted vision warrants professional evaluation.
👁 Lens Handling Issues – If inserting/removing lenses becomes difficult, seek guidance.
👁 Lens Damage or Loss – If a lens gets torn or lost frequently, your practitioner may recommend alternatives.
👁 Signs of Infection – Excessive tearing, discharge, or light sensitivity requires urgent care.
